"DESINTEGRATING"
A NEW LEVEL OF SOPHISTICATION!
The dresses, and skirt and blouse combinations, were in the gleaming panne velvets that are everywhere this season, or in matelassé satins or elaborately appliquéd tweeds and failles that gave further dimensionality to the prints. The idea of distressed fabrics was luxuriously suggested in the “disintegrating” pieces—a dress with a tweed bodice that appeared to dissolve into a taffeta skirt, for example—through the deft use of the patchwork embroideries which have become an Erdem signature.
